Sonia Washington, a native Marylander, has dedicated her career life to the field of Information Technology. Ms. Washington attended Morgan State University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Information Science & Systems. She gained her work experience in the Information Technology filed as a Database Administrator, Computer Operator, Computer Specialist II, Information Technology Specialist II, and Computer Engineer. She received a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems at University of Maryland University College. Ms. Washington has been an adjunct Professor at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) for one year. As of Fall 2001, she accepted a full time professorship in the Computer Information Systems department at PGCC. She teaches computer courses and incorporates her work experience in the classroom. She served as a Cooperative Education Advisor, Youth worker, and ALANA (African, Latin, Asian, Native American) Mentor. She conducted various workshops such as the following:

The Prince George’s County Public Schools, granted Ms. Washington the opportunity to prepare training material and teach the computer skills to the high school teachers in Prince George’s County. In addition, she is preparing herself for other consultant opportunity in the Information Technology field while teaching at PGCC.
