Paul Madachy received his M.A. in English from North Carolina State University (1997) and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Maryland-College Park (2003). Before teaching at PGCC, he taught at North Carolina State University, Frederick Community College, Howard Community College, and University of Maryland-College Park.  He has taught courses on American literature, the novel, and a variety of composition courses. He taught Technical Writing for the Professional Writing Program at UMCP. His areas of teaching interest include 20th Century American Literature and Drama, American Realism and Naturalism, Literary Representations of American Identity, and Technical Communication. He was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Instructor award at N.C. State (1997) and the Distinguished Teaching Assistant Award twice at UMCP (1998-1999 and 2002-2003).
