Dear Police Operations Online Student,

Welcome to "Police Operations" on the Web.  I hope you  find this course interesting and use this as an opportunity to acquire another skill for your portfolio.  Because of the nature of this course, it is important that you respect and honor your views as well as the views of your peers.

There is no required on-campus orientation.    "Discussion Board" assignments are graded, so your participation - or lack thereof - will affect your grade in this class.   All orientation materials are on the Internet.  The only required trips to campus are to purchase your  textbook package.  If  you have any questions or  problems, please  send me an email at barnesod@pgcc.eduYour first stop should be at my home page:; pertinent information about CJT 152 will be found there.

Your first initial and your last name, all in lower case letters.
For example, if your name were Jane Lawrence, your user name would be:     jlawrence

Password:   Your Social Security number (no spaces and no hyphens)

For example, if your social security number is 123-45-6789, then your initial
password is 123456789

You can change your password after you logon. Click on "Personal Information" in the Tools frame and then click on "Change Password."

Blackboard 5.5

Our web course management system will be Blackboard 5.5. Although you cannot access the course materials until the semester begins, you can access information about Blackboard 5.5 and take a self-guided, self-paced tour:

       2. I normally check my e-mail every business day (Monday-Friday).  

       3. Homework assignments will be returned within ten days.
