The Health Education Institute
The Health Institute joined the Center for Academic Resource Development in Fall 2000 to assist in grant funding, securing donations, and implementing new instructional health programs and projects in response to the needs of the community.
The goals of the Institute focus on:
securing grant funding opportunities for enhancement and growth of the academic health disciplines
and health related issues of interest to the college community
developing new health programs in partnership with the community and cooperating academic institutions,
fostering professional continuing education designed for healthcare practitioners requiring medical education to maintain state licensure
promoting new partnerships in the County Health Department, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Prince George's County Public Schools and the college community.
The Health Institute has secured funding from the American Cancer Society, the Association of American Colleges and Universities, The Prince George's County Health Department, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to support initiatives on HIV/AIDS, Tobacco Prevention and Control and Continuing Professional Education.
