BIOGRAPHY:
Marcia Dawson
Associate Professor of Educational Development
Prince George’s Community College, Largo MD
Currently, Marcia is President of the Mid-Atlantic College Reading Association (MACRA), which provides networking, support and professional development opportunities for college reading, English, and academic support professionals.
Originally from Baltimore, Marcia grew up in Harford County, then migrated north to Delaware and Southern New Jersey before settling in Edgewater, Maryland, with her husband Andy, their daughter Kate, and their canine "child" Chessie. She is an active member of her community, co-editing the community's newsletter and serving on the board of a local environmental organization.
Marcia earned her bachelor's degree in English Education from the University of Delaware, and her master's degree in Community College Education and Reading from Rowan University.
