Math 221 Statistics

Dear Statistics Student,

Welcome to my web site for Math 221 Statistics taught through Prince George's Community College.  An online course contains many new challenges for both the student and instructor so developing a solid line of communication is essential so read this introduction carefully.

This course runs from January 22 to May 17. For a detailed list of calendar dates follow PGCC Spring Schedule

There IS required on-campus orientation;

JANUARY 21, 2004 From 7 pm to 8 pm

This orientation is required for all math classes taught online through the college. If you absolutely cannot attend please contact me IMMEDIATELY.

You should begin by reading the "Greeting" page, the "Survival Tips" page, and the "Syllabus and General Course Information" page.

Course Materials

You will be able to access course materials beginning JANUARY 20, 2004.
The URL for this course is:  http://pgcconline.blackboard.com
You will need a Username and Password to "Log In."

Username:
Your first initial and your last name, all in lower case letters.
For example, if your name were Jane Lawrence, your user name would be:     jlawrence

Password:   Your Social Security number (no spaces and no hyphens)

For example, if your social security number is 123-45-6789, then your initial
password is 123456789
 

Note:
You can change your password after you logon. Click on "Personal Information" in the Tools frame and then click on "Change Password."

Blackboard Release 6.0

Our web course management system will be Blackboard 6.0. Although you cannot access the course materials site until January 20th, you can access information about Blackboard 6.0 and look at a users manual in .pdf format.

3. Look for the users manual link.

If you are having trouble finding the document.
 

E-Mail Policy

    I get ALOT of e-mail so please use the following guidelines when posting me:

      1.  PUT THE COURSE YOU ARE ENROLLED IN INTO THE SUBJECT LOCATION of     the e-mail.

       2. I will check my e-mail every business day (Monday through Friday).

       3. Homework assignments will be returned usually within 10 days.
