Many of us in the West have only vague notions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Zen, and other variations of eastern thought. This course aims at opening up the various ideas of China and India and Korea and Japan to see where they overlap with our western notions and where they differ. The course looks at the traditional forms of thought in these countries along with their contemporary expressions.
The course is only only occasionally offered, and will not be one of your options during 2006-7.
