: Located at the top of the screen underneath the title
bar. It contains categories, which when clicked on provide
pull down menus with more specific related options.
(Example pressing the category help opens a pull-down menu
Standard toolbar: Located below the
menu bar, it contains buttons of the most basic functions of
PowerPoint. (Functions such as saving a file, printing a
presentation, and opening a new presentation are easily
Formatting toolbar: Located
directly blow the Standard Toolbar it provides easy access
to formatting options. (Example: Type face can be easily
changed from standard to bold, italic or underlined using
Drawing toolbar: Located at the
bottom of the screen it appears directly above the status
bar. It contains tools to easily locating features to
create and edit slides. (Example: By clicking the insert
picture button one does not have to find its location on the
menu bar and the pull down menu).
Slide view: Displays one slide at a
time in the center of the screen, allowing one to edit the
slide. It is in this view that text, pictures, graphs and a
variety of other things can be added and edited.
Slide Sorter view: It appears as a
column, displaying multiple thumbnail views of a few slides
to the left of the current slide being viewed. Some simple
functions that can be preformed within the Slide Show Sorter
1. By dragging a thumbnail to a
different location, the order slides appear in the slideshow
can be manipulated.
2. Slides can also be easily deleted
by selecting the slide and pressing the delete key.
Outline view: Located as a tab to
the left of the Slide Sorter View. It provides the fastest
way to edit text, there is an ease in copying text from one
slide to another and rearranging slide order.
Notes Page view: It is a page of
notes which correspond to the slides, elaborating more
points for the presenter to make during a presentation. The
notes are not view during the presentation but can be
printed before to help the presenter during the
Normal view: Displays the Slide,
Outline and Notes Page views in one window, each view having
its own pane. Any change made in one view is automatically
reflected in all the others.
Slide Show view: An electronic
presentation on the computer which displays slides one at a
time. Depending on which effects were added during the
creation process, the show will either appear manually or
automatically and can have various transition effects.
