Class Participation Assignment - Teacher Productivity Enhance Developmental Activities
Part A
Students will design a sound file for auto-discrimination activities promoting physical development
Step 1: Demonstration by group peers on power point - inserting sounds to a slide show
Step 2: Perform an Internet search for different types of sound for various ages (Infancy to Preschoolers)
Step 3: Create and develop a sound file for one age group (Infancy to Preschoolers) promoting gross or fine motor activities
Step 4: Save your sound file to a disk for presentation

Part B
Students will design an image file for visual-discrimination activities promoting physical development integrated with cognitive development.
Step 1: Demonstration by group peer on power point - inserting graphic or image to a slide show.
Step 2: Perform an Internet search for different types of images for various ages (Infancy to Preschoolers). All images or graphics should be real life pictures relating to a multicultural integration
Step 3: Create and develop an image file for one age group (Infancy to Preschoolers) promoting multicultural or character education with developmental areas - cognitive and physical.
Step 4: Save your image file to http://groups.yahoo.com/group.eteacherlounge (Photo or File)
Product: Teacher Productivity: Image File As a Lesson Starter to Promote Fine and Gross Motor Integration into developmental and content areas
Part 3:
Students will create teacher productivity tools: Poster, Banner, Book Cover or Schedule or Task Chart
Step 1: Demonstration on Make-And-Take Technology with Excel (attached study sheet)
Step 2: Create and develop a poster or banner or book cover or schedule or task chart with excel
Step 3: Save your teacher productivity to a disk and email the instructor (thorntbe@pgcc.edu)
Product: Teacher Productivity: Poster or Banner or Book Cover or Schedule or Task Chart promoting visual discrimination and content area (multicultural) Check you product with the Checklist for Evaluating Multicultural Materials

Part 1 through 3 due November 28
(1) Image & Sound File (hard copy with audio tape or software application save on disk)
(2) Productivity Project (poster or banner or book cover or schedule or task chart)
(3) Trip to bookstore's children section
Activity: Page 180 - #7 "Study children's books relating to 'myself and my family.' Select one to share with the class. How would you present this story to an early childhood class? Why do you like this book? Is it free of sexism and racism? Use the Checklist for evaluating Multicultural Materials - How did the setup in the bookstore rate?
The bookstore visit will happen on October 31 - individually.
This activity will be presented and discussed in Session 11 - November 7
