The cooperative housing was planned in a series of townhomes and apartments set off the main roads.

Each group of homes in this arrangement was called a "court."

This is the "20 Court" off Ridge Road.

The courts were arranged with interconnecting walkways and large areas of green space between the individual courts.

Although sufficient by 1930's standards, the homes are considered small today.

Some of the cooperative housing consists of more conventional apartments. Note the amount of open space. Would you find this in a "for-profit" apartment building built today?
