Course Descriptions
In addition to the following courses, we offer custom, contract training courses for government, business and industry organizations. Whether it be a refresher program or upgrading the skills of your employees, we are here to serve your workforce needs.
Basic Operator—Bulldozer (HEO-301) Learn to operate both straight and angle blade bulldozers. Hands on training to gouge out, level, distribute earth and push trees and rocks from land preparatory to constructing roads and buildings, planting crops, or in mining, quarrying, and lumbering operations. Students are taught lever and pedal control to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment. Drive bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals. Perform routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. 10 sessions. Monday-Friday. 6-9:30pm.
Basic Operator—Excavator and Backhoe (HEO-302) This course teaches basic operation of excavator and backhoe heavy equipment. Students learn various controls and operating systems to manage the operation of the equipment, locating the load and identifying the load characteristics, safely moving the load, monitoring the controls and stopping, shutting down and securing the equipment after the completion of operations. Perform routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Basic Operator—Front-End Loader (HEO-300) Learn to operate straight or articulated rubber-tired or tractor-type loaders equipped with front-mounted, hydraulically powered bucket/scoop. Lift and transport bulk materials. Students will learn gear shifting, pedal and control operation as well as steering wheel operation. Move levers to lower and tilt bucket and drive front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Move levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled and to dump material. Perform routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. |
