Our Mission:

The Psychology, Sociology, and Education Collegian Center will excel as a recognized leader in undergraduate education that lays a foundation in psychological, sociological, and educational paradigm. This paradigm helps the scholars to understand biological, psychological, and social basis of behavior and prepares collegian scholars to transfer to four-year institutions. It also lays in various educational fields to students interested in either early childhood, elementary, or secondary education. The Psychology, Sociology, and Education Collegian Center provides educational opportunities for the professional development of students in the areas of mentoring/advising, internships/field/research, and scholarly lectures/ workshops/seminars.

Our Vision

The Psychology, Sociology, and Education Collegian Center provides a climate beneficial to the realization of personal goals and an environment offering both challenge and inspiration for the student. This will ensure a positive experience and guaranteed student achievement and attainment. The Psychology, Sociology, and Education Collegian Center also seeks the recruitment of students and faculty who will be assets to the Center's goals.

Membership Criteria

Scholars are eligible to be a member of the Psychology, Sociology, and Education Collegian Center if they:

• are a student of Prince George's Community College or high school involved with the Psychology, Sociology, and Education Collegian Center
• have a completed 12 or more college credits
• have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher
• are willing to participate in the Center's activities
• are willing to assist other collegians and encourage other students to become members

What Collegians can expect from the PSECC:

As PSE Collegians you can expect:

• a commitment from the coordinator, advisory board members, mentors, and other designated faculty to help make your Collegian center experience a beneficial and enriching one
• exposure to the rich and diverse activities and events offered on campus
• an opportunity to assist in planning future PSECC events
• visit colleges and universities
• one to one advising and mentoring with your specific discipline
