The Basics of a PDB File

The PDB or protein data bank file is the most common file type used by Chime.  Below is a static graphic of the complex ion - Cu(NH3)4++ on the left and the Chime image on the right.  If you click on the atoms on the Chime image, the identity will be displayed on the browser status bar (lower left of your screen).

 

Here is the listing of the contents of the pdb file for the Cu(NH3)4++ ion. 

Other file types, such as mol or xyz, have information listed in different fashions.
