Biological Psychology

This module is designed to give psychology teachers straightforward and real-life explanations and activities that they can use to teach the basics of biopsychology in three one-hour sections. We start at the microscopic level, with neurons and neurotransmitters, and how they work.  In the second section, we "zoom out," focusing on the systems that are made up of neurons; in particular, the brain, including localization of functions and brain researching techniques.  The third section is a direct application of biopsychology in a social context, to which students may be able to relate personally: the study of Alzheimer's Disease, its biological etiology and treatments.  Each section has three parts:
Learning Objectives, Lecture Information, and Assignments/Activities/Handouts.
