OnlineExpress Memo of Understanding
For Developing an Online Course

The Online Express at Prince George’s Community College seeks to create a college-wide structure for developing online courses that fosters creativity and focuses on instruction within the context of a team approach. This agreement serves to clarify the expectations and responsibilities for both faculty members and the College.
 

I, ___________________________________________, of the _________________________________ Division,

agree to develop ___________________________, a 3-credit (4-credit or 5-credit) online course, in the semester preceding the course that I will be teaching online.

Specifically, I agree to:

• Attend an orientation session.
• Attend 10 scheduled two-hour training sessions during the semester preceding the semester in which I will be teaching my online course(s)
• Attend an all-day work session (To Be Scheduled at the end of the training sessions).
• Use Blackboard as the course management platform
• Use GroupWise as an email provider
• Develop a Web page for my online course(s)
• Schedule my course in the semester following this training
• Demonstrate one of my courses to my colleagues

Prince George’s Community College agrees to provide:

• Compensation for training and development of a 3-credit (or 4-credit or 5-credit) course
• Blackboard as the course management platform with 24/7 faculty support
• Comprehensive training and instructional design support
