MAT 2430 - Calculus III for Science and Engineering
4 credit hours
MAT 2430 includes vector calculus, multiple integration, and partial derivatives. This is the third course in a three-semester sequence of university level calculus for science, engineering and mathematics majors. This third semester covers vectors and the geometry of space, vector valued functions and motion in space, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, and integration in vector fields. There will be usage of MATLAB software and Graphing Calculator. Replaces MAT 243.
Prerequisite: a “C” or higher in MAT 2420 [formerly MAT 242].

Upon successful completion of the course, each student should be able to:
1. Operate with vectors and vector functions.
2. Use partial derivatives, double and triple integrals and line integrals proficiently.
3. Apply theorems of Green, Gauss, and Stokes for the solution of physical problems.
4. Utilize the underlying theory in the application of vectors, derivatives and integrals.
