(b)       Invite nominations and conduct the election by full-time faculty members of the division. 

3.         Conduct election of the Division Tenure Committee following the same procedures as those for the Division Promotion Committee, but noting that all members of the tenure committee must be tenured.

4.         Conduct election of new division members for three-year terms on the Collegewide Tenure Committee following the same procedures as those for the Collegewide Promotion Committee, but noting that all members of the tenure committee must be tenured. 

3.         Duties of the Division Promotion Committee and the Division Tenure Committee 

a.         At their first meetings each committee will elect a chair and vice chair. The vice chair will conduct meetings in the absence of the chair or when directed to do so by the chair. 

b.         When evaluating an applicant for promotion (tenure), the committee will consider the applicant’s promotion (tenure) portfolio and the applicant’s  promotion (tenure) folder. 

c.         After reviewing an applicant’s promotion (tenure) portfolio and  promotion (tenure) folder, the committee will exercise its professional judgment and make a recommendation for or against promotion (tenure)  

d.         After evaluating and making recommendations regarding all requests for promotion (tenure) within its area, the committee will send its written recommendations, along with the records used in its evaluation of all applicants, to the division dean. The chair of the committee shall immediately notify the faculty member of the committee’s recommendation by sending him or her a copy of the recommendation sent to the dean.
