1.         Conduct election of the Division Promotion Committee. 

(a)                Identify those departments from which one or more promotion applications have been submitted.  

(b)               Explain that: 

(i)                  The promotion committee must include at least five members but no more than seven members from the rank of assistant professor or higher. 

(ii)                The elected committee must include at least one representative for each applicant’s department. 

(iii)               No promotion applicant nor ILS is eligible for committee membership. 

(c)                Invite nominations from the floor. 

(d)               Conduct election of the committee by full-time faculty members of the division: 

(i)                  For each department from which there is an applicant, the nominee from that department who receives the most votes is automatically elected, regardless how many votes are cast for other division nominees. 

(ii)                All remaining committee vacancies will be filled by those remaining nominees who receive the most votes. 

2.         Conduct election of new division member(s) for three-year term(s) on the Collegewide Promotion Committee.  

(a)         Explain that: 

(i)        Nominees must hold the rank of assistant professor or higher. 

(ii)        No current promotion applicant nor ILS is eligible. 

(iii)       In the event that two members are being elected in the same year, the nominee receiving the most votes will be elected for a full three-year term, and the runner-up will be elected for a two-year term.
