About the Council

The Academic Council was formed in Spring 2008 and its membership is dedicated to promoting the college's mission of excellence, success, diversity, respect, professionalism, and life-long learning. The Academic Council is an integral part of the college's governance structure.

The Academic Council works closely with the faculty, department chairs, and academic deans in conducting its work. The principle functions of the Academic Council are: reviewing and revising academic policies and procedures and making recommendations to the Vice President for Academic Affairs; coordinating the college's academic programs; and ensuring that all aspects of academic programming (i.e., academic regulations and standards, curriculum development, academic assessment, and academic professional development) operate in a manner consistent with the strategic goals of the college.
