In keeping with the college’s mission, the Learning Foundations Division is dedicated to helping each student who has the potential to benefit from a college education reach the educational goal to which each aspires.  The division offers academic enrichment and developmental courses in reading, writing and mathematics to help prepare students for college credit courses.  In addition, the programs emphasize literacy, critical thinking, study, test-taking, and computer skills.

Students have the opportunity to work with faculty, tutors, mentors, and counselors when they need extra assistance or have special needs or concerns.  The courses are offered in a variety of formats:

  • Day, evening, or weekend
  • Half-semester sessions, summer sessions, and inter-sessions
  • Traditional instructor-led, self-paced, and hybrid or online

Thousands of students have benefited from the academic enrichment and developmental course offerings taught by the outstanding faculty in the Learning Foundations Division.  You have made the right choice coming to Prince George’s Community College to begin a successful pathway toward your goal.  I wish you much success in your educational endeavors.
