COMPUTER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY (CET)
The
Associate of Applied Science Degree program in Computer Engineering
Technology (CET) prepares you for immediate
employment as senior computer/network technician, network administrator, or
as a field/service engineer. Specialized training in the setup, configuration,
and troubleshooting/repair of PCs and networks. Includes background in
electronics, software, and data communication. A+ computer hardware, Cisco
networking, Wireless Lans, and network security are comprehensively
studied. In addition to the CET degree, several Certificates
are offered: Computer Service Technology, A+ Preparation, and
CCNA Preparation.
The Certificates can be easily upgraded to the CET degree.
It is strongly advised to apply for a CERTIFICATE once its requirements are met- even if a Degree is the eventual goal.
We offer instruction at our campus
facilities in Largo, MD, convenient off-campus locations throughout PG county,
and certain courses are conducted over television and the internet.
Work/study opportunities
to gain experience, college credit, and pay are available.
Many
scholarships are available. Graduates of
our CET program
may transfer into four-year institutions to continue their education- such as the CET
B.S. degree program at Capitol College, Laurel, MD.
Computer Engineering Technology curriculum flowchart shows the course sequence and descriptions. Consult the PGCC Catalog for complete program requirements and course descriptions. To determine course availability and schedule information, consult the online PGCC Schedule of Classes.
