Classroom Instruction
Attendance is highly desirable. Students are provided opportunities to
interact closely with instructors and other students. To accommodate
students’ varying schedules, these courses are offered during: (1) days;
(2) evenings; (3) weekends; and (4) Saturday-only or Sunday-only. For
convenience of location, courses are offered at: (1) the main campus in
Largo; (2) Andrews Air
Force Base
Degree Center;
(3) Metro Center
in Hyattsville; (4) Laurel College
Center; and (5) the Law Library in Upper Marlboro.
Online (Web-Based ) Courses
Students must have access to a computer
with WORD. Lecture notes, assignments, self-assessments, related learning
topics, communication with the instructor, and collaboration with other
students are performed through the Internet.
Telecredit Courses
Telecourses offer a convenient way for students to
conduct their coursework at a distance from the campus. There are four
components to a telecourse: (1) a series of video lessons broadcast on PGCC-TV
(the college’s educational access channel) or viewed in the college’s
Library/Media Center or available by a videocassette rental; (2) a
comprehensive study guide; (3) an academic textbook; and (4) an on-campus
instructor.
Interactive Video
Multiple interactive video classrooms
allow students to take classes simultaneously with others who may physically
be at different colleges, institutions, and business sites. This provides a
unique opportunity to interact and collaborate with a diverse group of
students.
