TRANSFER
COLLEGES’ AND UNIVERSITIES’ DEGREES
Use the following guidelines to insure
academic and career success.
(1) First obtain a degree (either A.A. or A.A.S.—both of which
transfer) from Prince George’s Community College.
(2) One year before graduating from PGCC, determine your career choice(s).
After referring to CRIMINAL JUSTICE: CAREER FIELDS AND REQUIRED DEGREES or
other sources, determine the degree required and the preferred majors
(fields of study).
(3) If, at this point, you are interested in a field other than Criminal
Justice, make an appointment with the Department Chairs at the colleges and
universities you would be willing to attend. Showing your Transcript of
PGCC Courses, ask which of them will be counted toward a bachelor’s
degree--if Criminal Justice serves as electives or a minor and you major in
the new field. Remember that Department Chairs can override Records and
Registration in accepting courses for transfer credit!
(4) The more varied your degrees, the more career choices are available to
you.
The following is a list of
possible fields of study (majors).
