You can improve your chances of being hired as a police office within the State of Maryland by having certified law enforcement training in advance.  (The program offered by Prince George’s Community College has been approved by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions.)  It is currently a 19-week comprehensive program, offered as a full-time course of study from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  Effective Spring, 2003, it will be expanded to include an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice as well as police certification.

Upon successful completion, you become eligible to be hired by law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Maryland.  You will be training in all aspects of law enforcement functions and operations at an on-campus location.  If you are prepared for a highly structured, physically demanding, intensive course of study, e-mail or call the Prince George’s Municipal Police Academy today!  Financial aid, student loans, and VA funding are available for qualified applicants.
