You must complete the prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better. We strongly suggest that when you enroll in BIO 2050, you should take MAT 1120 and when you enroll in BIO 2060, you should take PSC 1150 or CHM 1010. Completion of these four major courses should not only significantly lighten your course load, but provide a strong foundation upon which to successfully complete the program.

If you have no prior college credits, it may take as long as three years to complete the program. Remember you will be entering a career that will provide you with a great deal of satisfaction and job security for your future. It is far better to be well prepared and succeed than to enter the program poorly prepared and fail.

Maybe. Since a license is required to practice Respiratory Care, one must be credentialed to work in the profession. However, some Respiratory Care departments do employ students to work in their equipment room. Contact your local hospital to see if there are areas in hospital care that may require "short orientation" to help you seek employment or assist you during your college career. There are areas other than Respiratory Care that do not require licensure.

You will work hard - but as you will find by talking to students and graduates, the relationships you will develop with your classmates will be very special, long lasting and filled with wonderful memories!
The Respiratory Care Club is one of the BEST CLUBS ON CAMPUS! Every year students have worked together to raise money to go to a four-day conference in Ocean City. The Class of '88 raised enough money to go to Las Vegas for one week!!! The Classes of '92, '93, '94, '95, '96, '97, '00, '05 and '06 won the academic competition at the conference and one student gave an award-winning presentation in Ocean City. Winners of the '05 and '06 competitions were sent (expenses paid) by the Maryland/DC State society to the national conventions in San Antonio and Las Vegas respectively, to compete in the national student competition.
This is a SPECIAL PROGRAM! The club is important to your faculty advisors. . . . You'll work hard and your faculty realizes that you need spirit and fun in the face of a sometimes very serious career.
