Program curriculum is based upon the American Society of Radiologic Technologists’ professional curriculum for Radiography. It prepares graduates through a progressive, competency-based educational format. Modules of study include patient care and education, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, equipment operation and quality control, image production and evaluation, and clinical practice.

Upon program completion, the graduate earns an Associate of Applied Science degree and is eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography exam (boards). ARRT certification and registration is required to receive a license to practice in the state of Maryland. Graduates will be prepared with the skills necessary fro life-long practice in the field of radiography.

The PGCC Radiography Program was approved by the curriculum committee in 1969, with nine students enrolled in fall 1970. The program currently accepts 32 students each Fall.

In the past 35 years, over 500 students have graduated from the Radiography Program.
