Admissions Information

Admissions Information

The Radiography Program has limited enrollment capacity and rigorous academic standards. This program of study requires special procedures for admission, initial enrollment, and continuation in the program. The Radiography Program is articulated with the College of Southern Maryland (CSM). CSM students seeking admission into the Radiography Program should contact an Allied Health Advisor at one of the CSM campuses for information.

To apply to the college, students must submit to the Admissions and Records Office, evidence of graduation from high school, award of the GED, or attainment of a prior college degree. Students completing their final year of high school will be considered for admission, but final acceptance to the College can be made only after proof of graduation.

Students interested in petitioning for admission to the Radiography Program must first meet with an academic advisor to review program curriculum and prerequisite coursework requirements.

Actual petitioning to the program cannot be completed until all criteria have been met and the student is attending the last prerequisite course. Admission to all health sciences programs is competitive and proper academic advisement is essential for success. The Radiography Program requires that students satisfactorily complete prerequisite courses with a "C" or better prior to petitioning. Students may repeat each only once to achieve the desired grade. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for admission to the Radiography Program.

To be admitted to the Radiography Program, the student must:

  1. Submit completed application materials, including official transcripts of all previous college study, to the Admissions and Records Office.
  2. File a completed petition for admission to a health science program to the Admissions and Records Office.
  3. Schedule and complete the Placement Test. Contact the Testing Center, Bladen 132 (301) 322-0147.
  4. Consult with a college advisor before proceeding with course registration (Bladen 145 (301) 322-0725/0151).
  5. For more information, contact the Radiography faculty at (301) 322-0733.
Admission to all health science clinical programs is competative and proper academic advisement is essential for success. There are both non-academic and academic standards for admission. Be sure to consult with your advisor throughout the application process.
