The accounting department
offers degree, certificate and letter of recognition programs for recent
high school graduates, those returning to the workforce and those seeking to
upgrade their skills. The professional programs are for those already in the
accounting field or who wish to enter it immediately after completing the
program. The transfer program is for those planning to transfer to a four
year institution. The CPA program is for those who have already earned a
Bachelor's degree and wish to sit for the CPA examination. Course may be
taken on campus, at our extension centers or online. Co-op education is also

The department sponsors
the
Accounting Center the
Student Accounting Association (SAA) and a
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Site (VITA).

The
Student Accounting Association
is organized to provided student with an opportunity to meet with and
learn from professional accountants, to share what they have learned
with the community. The association hold an organizational meeting in
the first week of fall the semester to plan and organize the activities
for that semester. Flyers are distributed to all accounting classes.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
This program provides free income tax preparation training to students,
who then in turn assist individuals with income less
the 32,000 in preparing their federal and state income tax. Students may
earn Coop academic credit for participating. The program begins
recruiting in November and training starts in January. Interested
