PSY 204 Fall 2008 SCHEDULE

Please be aware the online courses require at least as much study time as face-to-face (f2f) courses. You should plan on at least 10-12 hours per week of study time. That means you need to study at least 150 hours in order to complete the course. It is essential that you allot enough study time in order to be successful. If  you are new to online or are not a strong student, it may take you more time.

Note that we cover 2 chapters in many weeks. Please be sure to read all of the information for online students at my webpage. (academic.pgcc.edu/~dfinley).

SCHEDULE of DUE DATES Fall 2008

I have organized the course by Learning Units. Some units cover one chapter, some units cover 2 chapters.  See the Learning Unit (click the LU link on the navigation bar) for specific assignments due. All DBs are due at THURSDAY NIGHT 10 p.m. The next week's work will open on Fridays. (Note that I have to open this work – it is not automatic.) That means you can work on the weekend. Do NOT wait until Thursday night to begin work - that is the deadline. I will not be online after 2 p.m. on Thursdays. If you get locked out of a quiz, I will not be able to unlock it. Do work EARLY in the week.

Late Work
You may submit one DB late for partial credit in the late DB area. Group DBS have posting dates early in the week they are due. Those deadlines must be met in order to earn full points. On the current events and case study assignments, there is a loss of 4 points per day for late assignment submission.  Also recognize that later submissions will not receive feedback, just a grade.

Final Exam
The final exam is cumulative and is closed book. It covers materials from the beginning of the course. It is not comprehensive, however, and a study guide for the final will be posted by the middle of the course. The exam will be computerized. That means when you arrive at your testing site, you will sign onto the course as usual and the proctor will enter the password to access the exam.  It is your responsibility to verify the hours at the Testing Center. Be aware that the Center has limited seats and that during busy times, you may have to wait in line to check in. You cannot bring any materials into the Testing Center. You will need a quarter (not just 25 cents, but a quarter) to use the lockers. Please plan now for a time when you can take the exam. . Note that the Testing Center closes early on the first Friday of the month.
